> Image and reputation are fundamental mechanisms for
> enhancing altruism, negotiation, and cooperation among
> autonomous agents. Image is to be intended as a (set of)
> belief(s) that agents have about one another (in particular,
> whether they are good or bad candidate partners for future
> interactions) acquired from direct experience (either past
> encounters or observed interactions). Reputation is to be
> intended as the set of beliefs about others (whether these are
> good or bad partners for future interactions) acquired indirectly,
> from exchange of information about image. In other words,
> reputation depends upon the transmission process that allows
> one's given image to spread in a multi-agent system.
> An extensive literature from the fields of (evolutionary)
> game-theory, social dilemmas theory, multi-agent systems,
