Subject: learning curve of CORMAS

Hello
I would like to use CORMAS in a project related to tropical
deforestation in Venezuela. I was thinking in exploring its capabilities
with small class projects in an upper level undergraduate course. I am
not familiar with CORMAS so I was planning to learn it just a bit ahead
of them. After reviewing some of the tutorials, I am beginning to doubt
if this is feasible. In your experience, how much time does it take to
learn CORMAS? What part of the effort should be placed in learning
Smalltalk and Visual Works?
I will really appreciate any comments that you may have in this regard.
