to contribute to the discussion group on
"Agent-based modelling in Agricultural and Natural Resource Economics: How
to model individual behaviour?"
as part of the triannual conference of the
International Association of Agricultural Economists (IAAE) in Durban, South
Africa.
from August 17-22, 2003.
Organisation: Alfons Balmann and Kathrin Happe, Institute of Agricultural
Development in Central and Eastern Europe in Halle, Germany.
Dates: Monday, August 18, 4-5 p.m., Tuesday, August 19 5.30-6.50 p.m.,
Friday, August 22, 11.30-12.30 a.m.
Discussion groups provide an open forum for intensive discussions on a
selected topic. The discussion group will feature three sessions of
approximately 1.5 hours each during
which we want to discuss aspects of behavioural foundations of agents in the
field of agricultural and resource economicsduring. As the discusssion group
will be an open forum for discussion we have produced an outline (see
attachment). The outline should be understood as a suggestion, it is open
for discussion. We are open for receiving other suggetions on interesting
topics that could be covered and discussed.
The conference organisers have pointed out to us that there will be no
audio-visual equipment supplied by the conference organisers, and that no
full presentations are foreseen. However, we intend to give the possibility
to give short presentations or brief statements (however without much
technical equipment). In case that anyone will need to present a paper in
order to justify travel expenses, we could write a letter stating that the
discussion group will involve a presentation.
We would ask anyone interested in participating in the discussion group to
reply by May 16 to Kathrin Happe (happe@iamo.de). For further questions
