Objet : CFP: SCI2002 session on ?Modeling and Simulation of Business and
Economic Systems?

Dear Colleagues

An invited session entitled "Modelling and simulation of Business and
Economic Systems" is being organised at SCI2002, The World Multi-Conference
on Systemics, Cybernetics and Informatics, which will take place in
Orlando, Florida, between 14th and 18th July 2002. Program and registration
details are available at http://www.iiis.org/sci2002/.

This session aims to explore business and economic applications of new
approaches and techniques based on systems thinking and complexity theory.
As a leading example, agent based modelling (also known as bottom-up
modeling) has been established as a key technique in the emerging science
of complexity in recent years. Complex systems are composed of a large
number of interacting, heterogeneous entities (or agents) and see the
emergence of patterns of behavior that are often unpredictable from an
examination of the system's components. Agent based simulations have been
applied to problems in diverse fields including biology, social science,
economics and business applications.

Papers that explore economic and real-life business applications of agent
based simulations and other systems based approaches are sought for
presentation at the SCI2002 conference. If you are interested in presenting
a paper at this session please contact me or send an email to
Invitedsessions2002@iiis.org (full papers or extended abstracts required by
19/06/2002).
