University of Kassel, Position for a scientific assistant , code number 7029
The Centre for Environmental Systems Research at the University of Kassel
is offering a PhD Candidate position (50%) in the context of the
EU-funded CAVES project.
The CAVES (Complexity, Agents, Volatility, Evidence, and Scale) project
aims to describe complex social networks of agents in regard to water-
and land-use-change. For that purpose, methods from agent-based
modelling and from mathematical network theory are used. See

Tasks: To conceptualise social phenomena and to develop agent-based
models in Java, to collaborate in presentations and publications.
Requirements: Degree in a social or behavioural science, potentially in
mathematics or systems science; good methodical knowledge; interest
in environmental issues, basic knowledge of Java or agent-based modelling.
